Just ordered a Timney 3lbs Solid Trigger for my Windham Weaponry VEX-SS Varmint Exterminator. Factory trigger leaves a bit to be desired,it's not terrible but far from great. I'm more of a single stage guy myself for hunting and target. The Geissele looked nice and would be my choice if I was going 2 stage.
Any one running the 3lb Timney on their hunting AR?

I ran one for a few years. IMO, it's a pretty good trigger.

I have 3 lb. Timneys on both my AR's and really like them. The stock trigger in my Rock Rivers were terrible IMO.

that rock river match trigger is not too bad, but I am getting rid of mine as soon as I can, the little steel rivet has got to go.

My stock triggers lasted 10 shots then replaced. I did get a pretty good price for the RR triggers so replacing with the timneys wasnt that bad.

I have installed numerous RRA 2 stage triggers and find they work well. Good field triggers and easy enough to shoot good groups with.

The new Geissele single stage trigger with a spring kit and a Joe Bob trigger adjustment screw aren't bad for a single stage.

Send me a PM if selling. If reasonably priced I"m intereseted. The rivet is easy to replace.

Dan,

Mind my asking where you purchased the Timney?

Happy New Year!

I have the Geissele SSA on my SHTF rifle and the SSA-E on my hunting/range rifle and could not be more pleased. I went around and around on one or two stage and after feeling both on other's rifles I liked the light second stage of the two stage trigger. Hard to beat the crisp, just over 1#, second stage pull on the SSA-E. I also like that it is an open design that can be readily cleaned if necessary. From what I read while I researched, many are quite happy with the Timney.

After some extensive research, I will be dropping a SSA-E in my 6.8. Now to find a deal...

I put an SSA-E in my AR. Have only shot it a few times to check function, but am very satisfied with the trigger.

I am new to AR's and bought a DPMS A3 Classic and a Stag Model 1 for my son and I back in November. The trigger on the DPMS was horrible and the Stag trigger was adaquate at best. Replaced them with Timney 3 lb triggers purchased from SWFA. They are great and make a huge difference in our shooting accuracy. Plus it only took about ten minutes apiece for us to install them.

I have been using CMC triggers. Easy to install, and like them a lot.
