Selling my Marlin 39. This is a pretty old rifle. I believe it is between 50 and 55 years old from what research I did. The rifle has a Williams sight on it. I have another Marlin Golden 39a that my father got for me years ago and this one just sits in the safe so off it goes. Of course needs to be shipped to FFL and payment by USPS MO. $600 shipped.

If my research is correct, that D in the serial # dictates a 1947 birth date, so it should feel pretty good that at 65 years old, you still think it looks good enough to be a 50 year old. I don't know any 65 year olds that would complain about being called 50-55. I have two and love them both, free bump.
Keep Smiling

Bore looks good but I do not have a bore scope and the bluing does not show any freckling anywhere. Finish looks pretty good overall but there are a few spots where it appears the bluing is rubbed off mostly on top of the barrel and a couple spots at bottom of the tube. The muzzle has some bluing gone. This is more of a hunting rifle not a collector specimen. There are 4 or so slight dents in the forearm.

I may have got the numbers wrong but I remember thinking "darn this rifle is older than me and probably a rarity since I do not buy rifles that are that old. And even at 55 it would still be older than me.
Wanted to bring one thing up...after checking on the barrel it states 39-A. Also the rear sight is not there if you cannot see in the pictures. I got it this way without the rear sight.
Looking at the pictures I posted I can see the stock appears to be better than in person. Must be the camera doing its best to extract good pictures.
I got mixed feelings about selling this old rifle but something's gotta go for something else...what can a guy do.
Thanks for the bump guys.

I am really glad I am broke right now! That is a sweet rifle and there have been very few good-looking pre-safety Marlin 39's hitting the market lately. This shouldn't last long! I was just shooting my 39 Centennial Mountie today.
