accubond, I personally like the 168 barnes tsx and 79 grains of r22,or in the event you want to make some burger use the 165 nosler bt's with the same 79 r22 powder charge, both work well for my ruger 300 win mag and my browning 300 win mag.Hope this helps you a little. Kevin

A MAX load of 75 to 77grs of RL-22 and your favorite 180gr bullet usually works wonders in 300 Win mags...................DJ
Remember this is all supposed to be for fun.......................

I used to shoot a 26" Rem 700 in .300 win mag for deer. My loads were a 150gr ballistic tip over 78.5 grains of IMR4831 for 3350 fps or a 168 ballistic silvertip over 80 grains of IMR7828 for 3275 fps. Both were loaded in W-W cases at a length to almost touch the lands. Both loads shot very well. 81 grains of IMR 7828 under a 165 Gameking gave me 3350 fps but was not as accurate. These loads were safe in my rifle.
Now with even more aplomb

Imr4350 73Gr. CCI 250 primer, 180 gr. Accubond. Groups average around .5 and get 3170 fps. out of a 26 inch barrel. Shoots well out to 1000 yds. Always start low and work up. Tak

180 grain Barnes Triple Shock, 81 grains H-1000, Winchester Large Rifle primers, Win cases. I also shoot the 81 gr load of H-1000 in winchester brass, but use the federal 215 primer the load shoots .625 to 1 inch groups at 300 yards. It is also extremely consistent although not the fastest load that I have tried, my extreme spread when cronographed was 5 FPS YES 5 FEET PER SECOUND. I love this combonation for long range as the verticle spread is not a problem at extreme range caused by varing velocity. H-1000 is awsome in the 300 Win Mag

I have a Win 70 Supergrade in 300WM that lets you know that it doesn't like most recipes by throwing 4-6"patterns. Finally found a load with 180 Accubonds, 69.0 gr H4350, Fed 215M, that gets 5 shots close to MOA. For behaving this once, I took it elk hunting this past fall.

If you want to burn up any old H870 it shoots real nice and soft out of a 300 win mag. 180 noslers don't kick at all. But it does require some cleaning when you're done.
