I forgot. You only have one hand. So, when you manage to phiddle-[bleep] a new mag in one-handed and the slide is back, and yer too weak to work the release, hook the site on yer belt or boot heel to release it....

One question: Why the Ruger? Not making any judgements here. Just curious why you're locking in on one 1911 brand vs. others.
If you're fixin' to put a hole in something, make it a hole to remember.

it fit my club like paws.......and the out of the box trigger pull was unlike the others i tryed and less than 700 to boot, a old review had said......HERE>*********Ruger had been quietly quizzing shooters on their preferences for what a good M1911 should and shouldnt include. Several of Rugers engineers are competition shooters and have a working knowledge of the platform. Ruger also called in some experts to help with the design. Wayne Novak and Charley Pulit (president of Novak Sights) spent a good deal of time with Ruger engineers to design a pistol that had all of the features a great M1911 should have and none of the frills that are found on some of todays pistols. Rugers studied approach produced an extremely useful M1911 pistol at at a very reasonable price......************** btw-long ago my "1981.44 blackhawk" sold me on ruger pistols, after treating it like a redhead setpchild for all them years..i sent it to them in 2010..i got back what appeared ....a "new gun " same sn# -it looked like the day i bougth it new 4 <190.00 btw.)customer service is hard to fine! (rcbs) has GREAT cs to!

all rite! i have a question then, on your sr1911...is force to press the slide release (with right hand thumb) hard? or does it need to be "shot in"? every one of them that i tryed it on in the stores ..it took both hands...my p90/97 is super easy and i never rember them being "hard to depress and release the slide"...... The release on mine was really stiff when I got it, after some shooting it's getting much better!
