I got a period correct weaver k 2.5 scope and the rings to match, but there is too much parallax for my liking: ![[Linked Image]](http://imageshack.us/a/img18/7492/cimg1376e.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://imageshack.us/a/img5/719/cimg1377o.jpg) My two modern scopes are a Leupold VX-1 1-4 and a Leupold Vari-Xiic 2-7. I also have a Weaver K 2.5 60 B The Vari-Xiic will need a special mount because it is too short for the existing holes. What else does the Forum suggest?

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Not period correct but, a nice 60's or 70's Leupold or Redfield 4x or 3x-9x would give you decent optics, look pretty good and not break the bank.

would not part with it, but if it fell into my hands, I have a 1955 made Leupold 4 x that would go nicely on top...
or a 1969 made Leupold 4 power with a target dot reticle..

If you need less space between the rings, use an extension ring in the front with the extension pointed toward the butt. I recently encountered the same problem when mounting a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9X on a Colt Sauer Sporting Rifle. The extension ring solution worked out fine.

I also have a Weaver K 2.5 60 B The Vari-Xiic will need a special mount because it is too short for the existing holes. What else does the Forum suggest? If that scope is not too new, you can loosen the screw or screws that hold the turret to the tube and slide it back or forth just enough to get rid of the parallax. Look thru the scope while you move the turret so you know when it's correct. O, be looking at a hundred yard target while you move it.

The Weaver looks right, but if you want to see anything I agree with the Leupold solution using the tapped holes and Leupold mounts. I have a similar aged Winchester and it works fine.
