I had read at one time that Kahr was on the list of approved back up for NYPD? Guess not.

I read that also. I guess they must have dropped it.

I would have to go with the 19 due to its size camparied to the other 2. You still get 15 rounds in a more compact package. 26 for backup/off duty since it can use the 19's mags.

They were for a very short time, but were removed. I've never seen a concrete reason, but I've heard speculation that it was because the trigger pull was too light, and they wouldn't make a "New York" trigger. I have a hard time believing that Kahr wouldn't do that; there's a certain prestige being on the NY list.

Other's have said it was for reliability reasons; that could be so, I don't really know.

I know for a fact that Kahr actually did produce a New York trigger version of the P-9. The reason I know this is that I ordered a Kahr P-9 once, and it came with a factory installed New York trigger, along with paperwork verification from the factory to that effect. I told them I didn't want it with a New York trigger, and they sent it back to the distributor and ordered me another one.
