Cheaper dan Dirt can sell mags for whatever they think the market will bear. I have a problem with them from way back, signing me up for some buyers club and then telling me I obviously didn't know what I was doing when I ordered ammo on line. Customer service sucked and I just don't use them anymore. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I feel a bit better now.

I you can spare them, give your buddy a couple of mags. Those mags on CTD are junk. Way ahead of you partner.. I lent him a Battle Pack and enough mags to hold it.. under the auspices that he will return or replace them, when the panic has subsided.

Don't know if this was on the CDNN thread here awhile ago, but I just got an email ad from them today, their STRIPPED lowers (can't remember if it was Para) are at the price of $1,599.98.
Unreal.
I just had to read that email again, my mistake, that is the price for a pair.
Still... It was for only two. They are Para Ord. Serial # 1 and # 2. This is for some die hard collector.

You boys got the "out of state" pricing.  Do y'all have any idea [of course you don't] how much CTD PAID for the mags? That should be considered before you accuse them of gouging.

Well, my LGS has the USGI 30 round mags with the green followers for $25.00 each. CTD has marked them up 500%.
I would have to say CTD is price gouging big time.

Take a look at this CTD webpage. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemListing.aspx?catid=6652Seems they have normal priced magazines, is it possible the aluminum ones the OP posted are rare? If you look at the other posters linked $129 post there are less expensive mags....

The prices are that high because they have little if any in stock to sell at that price. IOW, it's a dog and pony show mostly.

Still... I got that email, too. It is for the factory firstly manufactured units, serno 1 and serno 2. That makes them historical/collector's items. Doesn't mean anything to me, but thanks for the education.

People, we've been thru these wild gyrations in the firearm/component market before and undoubtedly will do so again.
Its supply and demand, whether real or perceived.
The consumer has to learn to wait until the market settles down or have sufficient "stocks" on hand to be oblivious from them. Let this latest economic craziness be a lesson to us all.

Try finding an original Win M88 firing pin for under $175.... ..I have never seen the firing pin for a Winchester 88.. is it something I could fab in my mini lathe?

I have watched this POS post since it started! Reality is, not one of the companies selling things has a gun to your head telling you have to buy the product. It's supply and demand. And if you can't handle that simply keep your wallet and your mouth closed! And if that is too blunt.
