Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Well, by now we should know that humans DO remember the past but some of us, (gun grabbers in this case), apparently think THEY know better and choose to ignore the mistakes of others. Here is what those who would deny us our rights are ignoring.

In 1777, with the War of Independence well underway, the British were pushing some ideas for those troublesome American colonies. The plan was for the establishment of a ruling aristocracy, setting up of the Church of England and unlimited power to tax the colonists. They knew there would be resistance to these ideas so this is what was proposed;

The Militia Laws should be repealed and none suffered to be re-enacted & the Arms of all the People should be taken away, & every piece of Ordnance removed into the King's Stores, nor should any Foundry or manufacture of Arms, Gun-powder, or Warlike Stores, be ever suffered in America, nor should any Gunpowder, Lead, Arms or Ordnance be imported into it without License; they will have but little need of such things for the future, as the King's Troops, Ships & Forts will be sufficient to protect them from danger.

Sound familiar? It should but Eighteenth Century English can sometimes be difficult to comprehend so I have loosely translated it to todays writing style.

The second amendment should be repealed, never to be reinstated. All weapons should be confiscated by the government and held. The manufacture of guns, gun powder and any gun accessories is hereby illegal. The importation of guns or any gun accessories is hereby illegal. There is no further need for weapons as the Federal Government and local law enforcement will protect the citizens.

Now, look at what is being attempted in New York and all the other proposed efforts to disarm modern American Patriots. Is there a difference between then and now? No there is not. We have to resist this crap people. None of us really want open rebellion but neither will we allow the violation of our basic rights or the confiscation of the means to protect those rights.
