I am selling a Winchester M70 Featherweight XTR (Push Feed) chambered in 7mm Mauser. This rifle was made in 1982 before Winchester was sold to USRAC. Note the picture of the butt-pad with the actual Winchester markings. The rifle is VERY lightly used and never hunted. The metal finish is as close to 100% as it was when it came out of the box. The wood finish is also excellent with a couple of small marks that are smaller than sesame seeds near the barrel channel.
The rifle is in nearly stock form. The only modification made was the barrel channel was opened up to float the barrel. The factory barrel channel was not well done. I have not refinished the barrel channel and this will need to be done by the buyer. The rifle has the factory "bedding" in it and it would probably benefit from being re-done.
As far as accuracy, this rifle showed some promise with the two range sessions I spent with it. It seemed to shoot Federal Blue-Box 140gr Hot Cores at around 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches. Nothing spectacular, not horrible. The trigger is completely stock and of the old style. Someone could adjust it down, but it is definitely lawyer safe right now.
This rifle comes with the original hang tags, manual, warranty paperwork and box. I have re-inserted the filler screws in the action as well.
This rifle is my Dad's and he only had one hunting rifle before this, his pre-64 M70 30-06 before I convinced him he needed this one too. A trigger job and bedding the action to the stock would probably make this rifle shoot great, but he doesn't want to go through the hassle or the expense. His pre-64 shoots just great and he "never did nothing to it".
Asking $750 to your FFL. No trades at this time. Postal Money Orders are preferred.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Thanks guys. I'd buy it from Dad if I had the money. There's something really interesting about this rifle and its chambered in a cool caliber.

I have one of these. Killed an eight point with mine at 200 yards about 4-5 years ago in NC. Absolute pleasant rifle to shoot. I highly recommend this rifle for anyone who wants a fwt and not get beat up with recoil.
