I'm looking for a like-new fly fishing vest or pack to replace the entry-level stuff I currently have. Looking at Fishpond, William & Joseph, etc. Would consider a pack decked out with gear (not rods or reels) as well. I want something bigger than a simple chest pack, but don't need a huge backpack setup. Let me know what you've got.

Get a vest from Orvis. It's $100 and the best one out in the market.

Given the competition out there, that's a pretty strong statement. I see a lot of nice features in several vests and packs.

Among my current favorites:
William Joseph Confluence
William Joseph Exodus
Fishpond Marabou
Fishpond Sagebrush
Fishpond Wasatch
Hardy EWS
Filson Guide Vest

I don't take anything away from Orvis, but there are a lot of good options out there.

Yes, there are a lot of good options out there. And I should not have stated "the best". It was the best for my needs. I have tried Wm Joseph (and still have one - very nice) and one of the Fishpond's.

I tried looking for the actual vest I was speaking about and I don't see it on their website. I was going to paste a direct link.
Maybe they don't make it or carry it anymore. It was unusual in that it could also carry your jacket in a special compartment. I see nothing like that on Orvis now.

So that does no one any good now. Sorry.

Bummer. That Orvis vest sounds nice.

The Willy J Confluence seems very close to being ideal. It seems that you have to rig up a way to attach the net (how did they miss that?!?!) and there are a couple of other things I'd like to be slightly different, but no vest or pack is going to be 100% perfect.

If I don't track down a previously loved vest or pack, I'll go ahead and order one in a few days.

IIRC, there was a good condition Filson for sale here a short while ago.

Yeah, that Filson didn't last very long if it's the one I'm thinking of. Thanks for mentioning it, though.
