The GM up in Wausau is the best one I've ever been in.

The Scheels in Appleton is a good store.

Cabela's is building a new store in Green Bay that will be opening some time this year.

Agree on the Wausau GM store. I usually make a stop there when on my way to/from Green Bay for work. Scheels is good but not as good for used firearms as they were before they adopted the new larger store formats. Most GM stores in the Twin Cities are not worth stopping for me. The proposed Woodbury Cabela's is to be a free standing store at Radio Drive and I-94 and start construction this fall. I wonder if they will go forward if the MN sales tax is changed to tax clothing. That is a huge driver for retail sales in MN stores near borders where adjacent states tax clothes.

Oregon does not have a state sales tax, which is really great.

5.6" of snow so far and temps are dropping.

Yeah its not the nicest store by any means and judging by their prices, they feel its pheasant season year around.

Truthfully, the best GM I've ever been to (and it's a lot of em) is the GM in Wausau, WI.

I've spent a fair amount of time in the Lakeville one as well. My sister lives down there. It's OK. They lost me when they set up the 1000sf, scuba area. crazy

You know just 2 blocks north there was that landscaping place that is out business.....

Bass pro shop almost bought it, they were like 5 acres short of what they needed.. There is a little lake in the back..They were going to use the lake for customer field test gear.. Would of been cool.. Try out differ reels by casting..Fire up some augers.....

The Gander Mountain in Eden Prairie is freaking hilarious.

If I am every grumpy or in a bad mood, I can go look at gun prices and be giggling in about 2 seconds flat.

I have bought a few things there, but, in my defense, I had a gift card.

I don't see myself buying a gun there again. They've gone nutz on prices. Last gun I bought there was a browning buckmark camper, and like goalie, it was with gift cards.

All these new guns showing up in members' hands lately has made me a bit envious. New (to me) "bang-bang" coming to the RaystownRon household in the near future. Rumor has it that there might be some Native American references on the weapon. Envy pangs receding quickly.

Inquiring minds want to know, Ron. What Savage are you getting? Saw a fair number of 99's at the gun show last weekemd, including 2, 358s and a 284. Both 358s were tagged at $1,325 and the 284 was marked $1,200.

We ended up with just over 8" of snow. Snomobliers are going to be happy.

I have bought or traded for three this last month.A S&W Model 10 HB in .38 special,a KelTec P3AT (daily carry) and a Ruger Hawkeye in .223 with Bushnell 6-18X50.My exposure to temptation is probably greater than most since I work part time in a gun shop.

Sold a car tonight. It's cold here too. Probably good. The car started just fine while dead cold but the weather kept the guy from looking at it too much I suppose. Still, he got a good deal and I suspect he knew that, or he will when he looks it over better in warmer weather.

We did not get below zero F last winter so now that we are headed for -10 or a bit worse, we are all whining like Southerners.

Yeah there are days that 42 seems freezin' cold, but hell, we used to see -30 pretty often and -25 on a really regular basis. Now we cry like babies if it gets into the single digits ABOVE zero. I think global warming and the media are to blame. ----

naw,I think we are getting old.
I wasnt outside for 10 minutes, and my finger was damned painful!
I injured it last week, and have a bandaid and some tape on it,and it must have the circulation cut down a little.
