A treasure. Looks like a Super Grade with no extra holes.

It is a SG and has no extra holes but the stock has issues, butt plate and bottom metal not correct and stock is notched for peep. It is a shooter as is and I intend on shooting it a lot. Jay

Its a nice rifle for sure in a great caliber, but im pretty sure they weren't drilled for the crossmount front scope mount. Don

It is not drilled for crossmount, has a plate below crossmount that is using factory holes. Crossmount plate screws to that.

Very nice rifle sir. I have seen one M54 in .250-3000, and it
wasnt pretty, extra holes all over it.

Congrats on a great M/54, it doesn't sound like it would be very difficult to correctc the minor shortcomings. A buttplate and bottom metal are not that hard to find and one of the woodworkers here on the 'fire should be able to patch the receiver sight notch. If it were mine I would certainly expend the effort. Meanwhile do shoot that treasure and enjoy!

Thanks all, I probably paid too much @ $795.00 but I really wanted it. The weather here will keep me from shooting it for a while as can't get to my range, but when I do I will share results. Jay

Jay, I think you got an excellent deal, in my area that rifle
would probably sell for $1200 if not more. You will probably
see more pre-64 M70s in .250-3000 than M54s in your lifetime
and that wont be very often.

Jericho, don't know if you saw this, stock has issues, that's why I probably overpaid...
