Just finished another knife and wanted to share. This is a 8-1/2" clipped point hunter. ELMAX steel with Snakewood scales, stainless bolsters, and carved sheath.

Too fancy for me, but the quality of the craftsmanship is plainly outstanding!

Brad, welcome to the fire. This is the first I recall seeing of your work and have to say it is exceptional.

Don't wanna wade in on Bullwhacker's thread too much, but it is probably the toughest stainless steel currently available. It's edge holding properties are extremely high and it seems to sharpen slightly easier than S30V. Not to mention that it will finish brilliantly as is demonstrated by bullwhacker's exceptional work.

Thanks for the compliments.

The customer was very happy with the way this one finished up. I just finished relocating and now that my shop is set up I will try adding a few pictures now and then.

AFTERUM: ELMAX has shown to be a very impressive steel that can take a surgical edge and hold it like SV35 and as mtnman1 mentioned, it finishes up beautifully. It is one of my favorite steels to work with. Try one out sometime if you have a chance, you won't be disappointed.

That is a looker. very nice work.

I have an Elmax knife on the way. I almost went with snakewood too, as I've a nice block of it.

I too am interested in any and all info/experience about Elmax......
