Just to bring everyone up to date. I received my replacement barrel from CVA today. I ran the .501 Thor thru it and there was good solid contact all the way down to the breech plug. I have to give BPI their due, they fixed the problem by sending a new barrel and apparently went to the extra step of matching the size Thor bullet I sent them. Looking forward to load/bullet developement. Thanks for all the input in my original post.--Bill

I wonder how many barrels they had to test to get that one?

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a hunting license and that's pretty close.

good deal, glad they took care of you.

I'd give 100gr BH209 - T7 a try and see how she does.

They don't test them, that's why they injure people on a regular basis.

Try and follow along. The test was to see how the Thor fit.

Regular basis. You are like a broken record. Back up the statement.

This is one subject I am with Swampy on. Just don't tell him. Wouldn't want his needing to get a new hat 'cause the old one no longer fits.

As a matter of principle, if a company changes hands and reorganizes for the sole purpose of ducking responsibility or liability and maximizing profitability at the expense of shooter's safety, I boycott them 100%. This IS the reason I would not own a CVA even if you gave me one.

not only that but they have a very good track record of hurting people .
In their latest screw up , their ammo wont fit their chambers ..
prompting a national recall on their MODEL 597 17 HMR SEMI-AUTOMATIC rifles

At first when you read the recall its blaming the manufacture of Remington ammunition . . Yet if you read down alittle you will see that they state if you own the rifle , dont shoot it . Send it in and they will give you a coupon whapping 200.00 for it . 250.00 if it has a laminated stock
