For those Talley QD experience, do you prefer the screw-locks or levers? Thanks.

Unless I want to be able to take the scope off quickly for some reason, I prefer the screw-locks.

I have many sets of Talley QDs and used the lever type for a few years, then converted all of mine to the screwlock type. I find these less vulnerable to accidental loosening and they are trimmer and do not catch on my backpack or in a scabbard.
After some 48 years of rifle ownership, entailing about 150 individual pieces and about every model one can think of, from an FN-FAL to a Sako Finnwolf to several minty "classic" British and Euro. "name" rifles to US big name customs, I will say that, IMHO, Talley QDs, are the finest production mounts available and well worth the price charged....plus, they are REALLY pleasant and helpful folks when some old, ornery Canuck geezer calls with techno. queries.
I will now buy just Talleys, if they make the QDs for the rifle I need mounts for. Works for me.

Thanks. The screw-locks are certainly cleaner looking. Do they require a screwdriver or special tool? I can't tell from the pic on Talley's website.

They include a Torx double-ended key wrench with each pair of rings.
I always carry a multitool, now a Leatherman Charge Ti, that a mountain shop guy gave me one Christmas, and it has the corrent bits, this is in my little "hunting" possibles bag.
This, works for many aspects of hunting and removing rings is much easier with it than with the rig they supply.

Screw locks. My experience with levers, in general, has not been favorable.

Have a pair of Alaska Arms for my ZKK-602 375 and am more than pleased though the "rounding" of the ring could be better.

When you get to QLD there is a fellow up there I would like you to go and see, he trades as Western Action Firearms in Mackay. He has a couple of very nice Brno's model 21 7 x 64 Brenneke, 22 7 x 57, ZG47 7 x 64 Brenneke.
He is a heck of a decent fellow and has a lot of hunting contacts in QLD.
Tell him James Stuart from NSW referred you.
ps, the referal is for you alone.

Actually I have had my best luck with Leupold QD where the lever is mounted in the base. The lever is small and cams over instead of screwing. The worst I have used is the Warnes.Everytime I take them off I lose a cross bar.Never have used the Talleys, but all Talley products I have used have been Aces!!!
Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

Just have one set of the Talley QD's. They came with levers. Got em used at a steal price for my CZ 550 FS. Wanted to have the quick option of using the irons if needed. Use some type of QD on most of my rifles that have irons. Leupold QRW's and Warnes are ok but, a lot bulkier than the Talleys.
