I thought it was illegal to use semi autos in Africa. Is that true? I ask because I was watching a hunting show, sponsored by Benelli, in which they hunted with the Benelli semi-auto rifle. I believe they were hunting in RSA or Namibia. If it is still illegal, how/why did they do it?
Thanks, AC

It may be illegal for tourist hunters, but you sure see a lot of trackers carrying AK-47s and FALs in the African hunting programs.

Saw the same show and it was Namibia and with a Benelli R1 semi-auto in .300 win mag. Caught my eye. Was it always allowable there or did laws change? Anyone know?
Agree and take heed with what JJ said earlier and on several occasions in that I wouldn't risk my gun on Safari or the Safari wondering or even chancing this one.

I'm pretty sure it's full autos that Namibia outlaws. The definition, I saw, described a firearm that discharged a number of shots with one trigger pull as being an automatic. John
