Doe anyone know or have a recommendation for someone that could rebarrel a ruger 44 mag carbine. I think the factory has a 38 twist and i would like it to be accurate to 100 maybe 18 or 16 twist thanks

I would have no idea , considering the gas system on this rifle.

Never heard of a Ruger semi-auto .44 being fitted with an aftermarket barrel.
If it needs a new barrel, you may want to think about sending it back to Ruger. That's what I would do.

Note that in spite of their lifetime warranty, Ruger will not touch your older .44mag semi auto.

I would suspect that with a custom barrel retrofit, one could spend more than the gun is worth. Provided you can even get that work done. DF

PAC nor will make the barrel and they have a smith that will fit it.it may cost more than its worth but it will be more accurate. The factory barrel is only good for real short 25 yards shooting. I want to shoot hogs off a swamp buggy and would like to feel good out to 100

You may just need a different load. My Ruger .44 Carbine shoots into 2.5" at 100 yds. with a Speer 270g GD handload.

If it looked OK, I'd start working up loads, realizing that it's not a match rifle. If you need cutting edge accuracy, you probably need to trade that one on an AR or similar. There are multiple round choices available for that platform. DF

Does anyone know of a smith that will work on Ruger carbines? I love mine, but the trigger is horrible. 8-10 lbs with lots of creep.

I think the factory has a 38 twist and i would like it to be accurate to 100 maybe 18 or 16 twist thanks If you are having accuracy problems you think are due to the slow twist, try a lighter (shorter) bullet. Rebarreling a 44 Ruger carbine would be very expensive. Mine shoots 265 grain quite nicely out to 100. You don't need a heavier bullet than that.

this rifle trigger shouldn't be all that hard to tune and should be in the same category as the 10-22 trigger when tuning .
