Some very nice rides in this thread for sure, FVA, That is a great lookin ride. Those beemers are engineering wonders on two wheels. That one looks to have a single sided swing arm in the rear... I bet its a blast to just head off of the pavement with... cool

Thanks noharleyyet, The chin fairing was another project that I done(fender too actually). It holds the voltage regulator in the top section of it and scavages air up and thru the scoop on the bottom onto the oil filter. I relocated the horn underneath it out of site too, That helped clean up the left side between the cylinders abit.

The bars look alot like yours. I think thier 9 up and 9 back (?). They have a natural feel to them. Moreso to me than some of the shorter ones alot of folks go with.

I'm Ready to ride!!....

No mods for me this year, mines just sitting sipping on the trickler with a full tank of Lucas treated 101 octane out in the barn waiting on Spring, although i have been able to ride a couple times this Winter, and once just this week.

Only if they don't meet back pressure requirements of the engine.
Most have baffles they can be installed, or not.
Jetting and tuning is really quite easy, if you have the right tools.

True, however, my comment comes mostly from a buddy that never could get his to run with them, despite multiple tries by people and shops....

And most times they sound like [bleep] to boot....

Birdwatcher had a post a quite a while ago chronicling his trip east on a KLR 650 that made me decide I was getting one.
That desire ultimately bloomed into the off season purchase of a 2006 BMW R1200GS.
Bought it off eBay the beginning of the year.
Did take it on a quick rip on one of the sunnier snowy days.

I want to put a set of semi knobbies on it before spring but that is about it.

I see a few of those on trips out in New Mexico and Colorada, mostly as they pass me. Nice bikes for sure.

When I did the first set of true duals ( both jugs, both sides) on my VStar I ran into what might be the same nightmare. After an hour of fartin' with it, it dawned on me to add lollipops ahead of the mufflers. About fifteen minutes more work and zingydingy the manifold temps came down, idle evened out and power came back. The freer flowing muffs and 1 3/4" pipe I used weren't agreeing with the pods I'd added prior to the duals.

One of a bunch I've had for some ideas for ya.....

[Linked Image]

95" with bigger valves, ported and polish heads, Crane cams, S&S Super G and their adjustable pushrods, Hooker Headers, 1 1/4" Beefy T-Bars w/internal wiring, billet front rim, custom black paint with purple flames, and a buncha chrome goodies and tweaks you can't see.

Did all the work with a couple of friends in one's basement. Made 93 horse and 103 on torque.

Made a straight shot home from Sturgis, 762 miles to my front door on that Badlander seat and no windshield......

Thanks....I thought this one came out rather nice. Actually won the local H-D horsepower shoot out with it.

I hated to see the Softail Customs go, but I did like the Dueces. I had a couple, this being the second.

'08 Ultra Anniversary model with bunches of chrome stuff and Vance & Hines ovals. Just loud enough to cover up some of the tinnitus.

'11 Wide Glide running Rush slip-ons that sound great.

Only up-coming new stuff is boring like tires and such.

The biggest mod I'd like to do today is a good wash job.
Due to major drought conditions in these parts, it is now illegal to wash your vehicles at home and I hate high pressure car washes.
