 SNEAKY way of sayin' yer gonna take it out and stab sumpthin wid it tonite nothin' round here i really can, course i could stand in the back of the truck with it while we tear down a stubble field after a 'yote  I thought you were saying you were going to spear the kid you mentioned. Thought it might have been your daughter's boy friend or something...

On the topic of artillery pieces, my rather warmly loaded 416 Rigby does not exactly tippity tap on ones shoulder, either. That said, I am certain that the 505 Gibbs is a whole 'nutha kinda monster.
I fired an 8 bore punt gun once, when I was about 18. It rocked me back three full steps. If I had not stepped back quickly under the recoil, I would have ended up on my butt.

LOL, I've backed the Gibbs back down to a more sedate 2150 fps with the 600 gr PP Woodleighs, running them up to 2450 makes her really boot, the only reason to load them that way in the first place was to make sure rifle stock crossbolts and bedding were all on the same page and working properly, after 100 full house rounds I'm glad to say they are.  <G> Gunner

The Gibbs I'm bringing along used to be a Ruger RSM in 416 Rigby Mark, and yes, the 400 gr TSX's at 2600 fps do buck a bit. Gunner

The big blizzard has past. We got just under two feet of snow. Today is a mix of rain and ice.....real schitty outside. I sure hope everyone made out okay in the path of the storm.
