I like the one I have. Bright and clear. Adjusts correctly. Only thing I don't like is the height of the turrets.

I have three of the 3x9x40's and am very happy with them. They actually seem easier to get behind than my Zeiss Conquest 3x9 and, at least to my eyes, just as bright.

Brighter than my older Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x10.
Mule Deer likes 'em.

FYI, The Minox ZA-3 3-9x40 & ZA-3 3-9x50 are being phased out. They will have the ZA-5 5x power scopes and for 3x they are offering their new ZV-3 3-9x40

What are the significant changes Doug? Or is it just a re-badge?
I don't have a ZA-3, but my 2-10x40 ZA-5 is excellent. Super crisp sight picture, and outstanding brightness.

They are optically very, very good, mechanically- very poor. Minox is wise to phase them out. I hope their other offerings are more robust.

Hmmm, guess I haven't noticed that. Mines on a 7mm-08, and I don't use the turrets once it is sighted in, so I guess that's probably part of it.
I haven't had it lose zero or anything after about a hundred rounds. I don't shoot that particular rifle all that much, it's mostly my deer rifle.

MINOX Lifetime
Total Coverage Warranty While every MINOX Riflescope is built to operate perfectly in the harshest environments and after enduring the roughest handling, uncontrollable, unexpected things can happen in the field which results in a damaged Riflescope. Thats why MINOX provides complete* no-fault warranty protection with every MINOX Riflescope: simply, MINOX will repair or replace any damaged MINOX Riflescope with no questions asked. *Warranty does not cover fire, theft, loss, or intentional damage.
I had to send one in after the eyepiece unscrewed from the tube. Got a new one. No complaints.

Their warranty is great; not coincidentally a bad thing in this case. I know two guys that had two consecutive replacements fail on very low recoiling rifles. They quickly got out of the Minox scope business. The best warranty in the world doesn't help much when your scope goes tips-up during a hunt.

Clear and bright is what you see immediately. For me it is the quickest scope to get on target and keep on target. I have the BDC reticule and it does NOT affect quick acquisition of targets as does BDC on several other scopes. My experience is favorable. The only drawback I have is resetting the turret dials to zero after sighting in the scope for different bullets and velocities. This does not affect the performance of the scope. This is my only negative. The longer eye relief is good as I have shorter arms and view box is comfortable with this scope.

I don't have a ZA-3, but my 2-10x40 ZA-5 is excellent. Super crisp sight picture, and outstanding brightness. Sorry for the delay in reply I was away on vacation. The newer less expensive 3x scopes are different optically otherwise they are very similar. They are still a fine scope, however, I would say the ZA series would have better color resoltion and brightness.

I'm very pleased with great price Camera Land sold the ZA-3 3-9x50 package deal. I was able to sight it in by keeping track of clicks. Not sure how repeatability will be, but that isn't an issue with me as Thanks Doug and Neil.
