They work as advertised. In a .308, you'll get around 0.001" case lengtheneing with the X vs. 0.004-5 with a regular FL die. But, if you like case trimming . . .

I use them in 325 wsm, 300 wsm, and 270 win. They do appear to function as advertised. Limited case lengthening. I end up trimming after about 4 firings. YMMV.

I've tried them in .223 and .30-06, and while they did limit (but not stop) case lengthening I never could get either die to size brass with reasonably straight necks, despite trying the usual tricks.

Wsmnut Hmmm I can go 3 or 4 with regular dies. I just couldn't grasp that hey would stop brass from following and it appears my suspicions were correct. Hell never thought about what it might be doing to the run out but couldn't be good. Thanks

Looks like X die results are mixed. I use them for .220 Swift and .30-06 and they seem to work fine with a significant reduction in the need to trim. Run out has been minimal.

I use on for my .243 with no problems. IMO the X dies are most useful with cartridges like the .243 that are more prone to "grow".
