My 3 piece 6mmx284 RCBS set had a .25" neck sizer in it. Going from .284 Win brass to .25" sizer had some issues for me. When dropping down to 6.5x284 sizer there were much fewer issues for me.
Found this out by replacing the 6mmx284 with a 6.5x284 barrel.
Also, once fired 284 brass sizes down better than new for me.

I played with the 6/284 some about 15 years ago. A great deer/varmint combo round for sure. Good luck and do please report back! Nice rifle you have there, treasure it but also hunt the HECK out of it!

Bob I should be going up and getting all the stuff from my great uncle in about a week or 2..he is heading down south this weekend for a pig hunt..But I definitely have dies coming...he said he only has about 1 or 2 already loaded boxes so I am sure I will have you load up some for me...4 or 5 boxes of sierra bullets too..it made me chuckle a little when he told me that the boxes said $5 on them compared to the $25 today haha...

When I was making .257 Wby cases out of .264 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag brass, I found it took more force with fired brass than new brass. I guess the fired brass had been worked and hardened somewhat; the new brass seemed softer and easier to manipulate.
