Hello gents.
Are the weights quoted on the Sako WS accurate?, or just pie in the sky figures? Looking at either a Finnlight or Stainless Synthetic in 3006.
Thanks again

Do they still offer the 85 in stainless synthetic? I looked some at both models some months ago and nobody had the stainless synthetic in stock.

My 300WM actually seems lighter than their posted weight. I don't have a scale, but I have been carrying a 30.06 M700, in a BC stock, and I can tell the Finn is lighter.

Got a Finnlight 85 in .300 WSM. It weights 6# 6.6 oz. That's with a 24 3/8 in. barrel. I've also got a Finnlight 85 in 7-08. Don't have the weight but will be glad to check on it when I get home from a trip.

I would say pretty close to posted on the website. I did up a 338-06AI with a new #5 fluted 24" barrel on a Sako m75 Greywolf and it weighs in the same as the Sako m75 Greywolf - "V" action calibers (7mmRM/300WM/338WM).
Me, I'm not a fan of the factory fluting on a Finnlight. IF it was me, I would get the SS model and take it to a gunsmith and flute it. I had my first Sako rifle I bought new back in 1997 (Sako m75ss 300WM) and had the barrel fluted....much cleaning looking IMO. Still use this rifle today as my main hunting rifle.
Thought I was a 1-rifle guy till 2004 and the rifle bug bit -- now I have a few Sako m75ss & Greywolf rifles....just dont tell my wife!! LOL!!!
