One of numerous pictures I took at the Yukon Quest today, near the dog drop-off in North Pole. This area is right next to the Chena River boat landing.

Do it today. Tomorrow there may be a law against it.

On the Chena River, by the Chena Lakes Recration area near the dam. The picture was taken at 3:00 PM, three hours ago. I don't know who musher #2 is (I could not tell), but he was the first one coming into the dog drop-off area. I didn't see any dropping-off any dogs, however. All they did was to hand their vests with the number to the officials, right on the go. The temperature was nearly 40 degrees, so they were not moving very fast, just at a comfortable pace.

Great pooch shot. That's something I'd like to try.

Any mushers around Northern NY, burlington, etc.? I imagine that there would be some trails where mushers practice during the winter months.

We get mushers up here from around the world, including a few from the lower-48. In fact, there is a famous Montanan who has won the Ididarod. This race takes place from Anchorage to Nome.

Now, the Yukon Quest (picture above) this year started in Fairbanks, and will end in White Horse, Canada. Next year it starts in White Horse, and will end in Fairbanks.

Anybody who is interested in knowing who the mushers are this year, you can do so at the link below. Yukon Quest page
