Greetings folks,
I have acquired a snazzy new Cooper and two magazines. In fiddling with the mags, it seems that when removing cartridges by hand the second and third rounds nose dive into the mags and get hung up. It seems as though the first round drags them forward and down, the bullet makes contact with the front of the mag, and presto, the rounds are pointed down on an angle into the mag. I've contacted the dealer who contacted Cooper so will see what they say but in the meantime I'd love to hear if others have run into this and if so how they resolved the issue.
Many thanks!

How does it work in the rifle while feeding real ammo?

Don't know, I have a Cooper and haven't had a problem. My knee jerk response would be to take one apart and turn the follower spring around.
Good luck, good hunting, and good times.

Thanks much for the suggestion. I'll see if I can figure out how to do that.

Give Cooper a call, they will repair or replace it - their customer service is very responsive.

Thanks.... They have been aware of this for more than a week and no response yet. I'm sure they will get around to it.
Disassembly of the magazine did not reveal an obvious way to reverse the follower spring....

Gene,
In re-reading your post I am left with the impression that both magazines have the same issue, do they both have the same problem with the 2nd and 3rd rounds "diving"? If so that would be odd to have identical issues with two different magazines, perhaps the wrong magazines were supplied with the rifle.
I am also left with the impression that your dealer is the one who has,or was supposed to have, contacted Cooper about the issue. The fastest way to resolve the issue would be to call Cooper yourself (406-777-0373), explain the issue to their repair dept and I feel quite confident that the issue will be handled promptly.
By the way I have a model 54 and it feeds extremely smoothly.

Thanks drover. The situation is exactly as you perceive. I will give them a ring tomorrow and take it up with them directly.
