I got a question for someone more knowledgeable about the Remington 700 rifles. I am going to be selling 2 remington 700 rifles this week (7mm-08 and 280). These are older used rifles with the wood stock and black forend tip. I always thought I had the 280 Mountain rifle since I bought it new years ago but the receiver just says 280 Rem. What is the differece between a stock Rem 700 verses the Mtn Rifle. Is it barrel length, weight??.........Thanks for your help!
No iron sights on any of the two rifles. The 280 has a slightly longer barrel. Maybe the 7mm-08 is a mtn rifle as well. I never shot that gun as I bought it for the action to have a custom gun made but never did. Killed many elk w/ the 280 however. Thanks for the info. I just took a few photo's and will try to figure the picture thing out.
