nephew has the POS chiappa, I've never shot it because it's either broke down or jamming. The 22A is OK, but not in the class of a 422 or 622 IMO. The little ruger is nice, accurate and dependable, if you like that style of pistol.

I have the S&W 22A, have a Leupold 2X EER on it. It's fussy about the ammo it likes, but found if I stay with Remingtons, CCI or Winchester its a shooting machine. Easy to take a part for cleaning and just a nice handgun. Still own a Ruger 2245, another great gun, but like the S&W a little better.

I bought a Chiappa 22 1911 and it proved to be pretty reliable, I shot it a bunch and sold it. I have shot the 22A and it is a decent pistol, more of a range gun though. No experience with the Ruger.

I have both a 22A and an SR22. I like them both but, for different reasons.
The 22A's design is roughly modeled after the venerable model 41 (though by no means is it the 41's equal). It is a very accurate target gun but, is a little unwieldy for a carry gun on the trail.
The SR22 is (a little) less accurate but, is perfect for carrying all day on the trail.
Thus each gun serves a different niche.
If I had to pick just one, it would be the SR22, just because it is easier to pack on the hip and the accuracy difference is not so significant as to make it undesirable.
I've had no problems with reliability with either of these two guns.
