I've got one in 30-06. Its to nice to take apart though, which is what it sounds like you are going to do.

i've got one in 243 i would send down the road doesn't have orginal barrel. don't know model offhand will dig it out and check if you are interested.

sounds like you know what they are. HVA is the premo of all the mausers. i have a mag boltface action but am not parting with it. it will somday become a 30 Newton. keep an eye on the pawn shops they usually price them like any other mauser. my son bought a lw Hva in 30-06 for 300 bucks. i dont think it was ever fired. but he made a 257 ak anyway..
