There is a lesson here. I am still shooting Obama initial election ammo. At 70 I'll probably not get it all shot up. When the dust clears, I'll buy more ammo.
Ammo Rule 1: There us no such thing as too much ammo.

A friend went to a gun show last weekend and reported seeing bricks of Winchester .22 selling for $90.00 a brick; and people were buying. Thats insanity! .22 is the last thing that will ever be outlawed or bannedsuch a fever isnt warranted or rational.
But youre clearly right, you can never have too much.

Did some shopping over the weekend in the Rochester NY area. Basic 45 ACP ammo started at about a buck a round. A brick of std speed CCI 22's was $60. Seems to be ammo available, but at unconscionable prices. Reloading components were rare. Also interesting to note that lots of pistols available at prices that were (more or less) normal. Only brand that was rare were the Glocks.
Imagine your grave on a windy winter night. You've been dead for 70 years. It's been 50 since a visitor last paused at your tombstone..... Now explain why you're in a pissy mood today.

who knows what the future brings? Those buying $90 bricks of 22 LR fear the worst. If they do indeed think the "end is nigh" they would be better off thinking of a water purification system, basic sanitation and heat along with how they will get enough calories per day without eating their neighbors.

I went to a show Sunday and an hour before the show closed there was a box of 50 Black Hills .45acp 185gr. Barnes Tac.XP+P for $55.00. I bought it because that was all that they had left in .45acp. No .22LR at that time, they had sold out.

Gunshows are the last place to buy anything. They have higher prices than a local gunshop.
