Not many rifles out there in .250 Savage, but I figured a rebarrel of a .22-250 would be an easy way to fix that. The last .250 Savage I bought is a tang safety Ruger that I acquired for my grandkid collection.
Anyone do this conversion? How did it go?...
thanks...
jim

I haven't done it yet, but I've had the same thought regarding an M70 FWT...

I have a .257 Roberts project, so I expect I will go with the standard version. Also I prefer factory cartridges for the grandkids.
thanks...jim

You could have it re-bored. Or a rebarrel would be easy. Shouldn't be a problem.

jim Don't get hung up on a 22-250 donor specifically. Most any bolt action that left the factory chambered in anything based on a 308 case will work.

Yup, I have built custom rifles before, and I prefer a magazine that works from the outset. jim

I just noticed that Savage has two rifles in .250 Savage, including the Classic...jim

Jim I didn't realize it was for the kids. That stainless one on their website really looks good. Find a beater stock to cut and let them grow into the new one. Greatest cartridge in the world for a kid or woman. powdr
