Looking at these calibers and more than likely will need to have it built? I want to go with the 7 wsm or 7 saum but thinking the 260 will be easier to get components for? Planning on using it for pigs and mid range shooting out to 800 yards. I already have a 308 win ready to go but still thinking a Sendero style gun in one of these cartridges. Any ideas to help make my mind up. Thanks

I shoot a 7 SAUM, and don't find components all that difficult to find. Having all of your components well stocked before hunting season is close will help immensely with that.

Not sure which one would be the "easiest" to find stuff for, but I would think the 7 WSM would be the most common. None of them are really popular in the big scope of cartridges however.

7 saum is a peach, but good luck finding brass right now.. Some jokers out there seem to be buying it all up for some reason. smirk Hopefully Rem will release some more soon.

A .264 in some S/A flavor would also be a lot of fun..

Chit, build one of each.

I wish Rancho, I need to find more money! The 7 Saum intrigues me for some reason, but I have never seen brass for it? WSM would be next but I do feel the 260 or 6.5 creedmore being a blast to shoot too. I wonder when I shoot out that 308 maybe convert to a 260 or 6.5 creed? Damn I need to stop buying rifles!

I've heard of a few dummies doing it in Texas... Something about "stand rifles"...

I don't think they get out much laugh

6.5 saum sounds exotic. Think a 7 saum if I can locate the components before I do a build or find a completed rifle. Shoot I don't even know if Remington is offering a model in it anymore? It would be nice to fine a Remington from one of the chains that didn't sell?

a WSM donor with a bit longer mag box would be sweet for one of these!

IME, 260 components are more plentiful than the others. If reloading though, a single purchase of (a few hundred) brass will last a long time, so I wouldn't let that sway me.

There's a decent energy difference between the 260 and the two 7 mags you mention, but any will do 800 easily.

I have a 7 SAUM and a 260. Both are great! You could always form 260 from 7-08 or 308 if you had to. I've found 260 brass a little easier to find right now compared to the SAUM.

Thanks guys. Now looking at who makes a good platform, kind of upset that Remington doesn't offer more than a rifle or two in these calibers? Looks like a custome may be in order.
