I got a job offer in Rancho Cordova and am thinking of moving if it pans out a little further east to the foothills.

Any areas to avoid?
Demograhics?
Crime?
Hunting opportunities?

Nice area. I wouldn't buy much above Placerville if you don't like dealing with snow and ice 3-5 months a year.
NRA country, pretty solid registered Republican.
Lots of public land, but other than some of the small game/bird hunting not one of the better hunting areas. Private lands, however, have some good deer hunting. E

DO NOT BUY IN RANCHO! Folsom very nice but yuppy & pricy. ElDorado Hills, shall issue county, conservative, close to hunting & fishing. Placerville, hunting, fishing, little snow.
Forgot to add that there are alot of pot growers & meth in the foothills area. Daughter is E.D. county probation officer & sees quite a bit. Cant get away from it in Ca.
