Appreciate the sentiment, but I am unable to attend. Perhaps next year.

I've never seen a .270 set up like that.

Cool, I learned I should get my 500gr bullets this week, so with luck I oughta have it running by the hunt. 7 lbs, steel buttplate...no muzzle brake smile

This is the first Boar i ever killed in the early 80's. Hoyt Pro Hunter 60 lb , 125 Thunderhead . Killed at Crooked Creek in Jim Town , TN. This is the only one i have had mounted. Perfect shot behind shoulder at 30 yards.

Loaded a few rounds for the 45-120, well over 100 grains of 2F under a 550 grain paper patched bullet, may try it out on a hog too.

But that is OK, some of US appear to be genetically altered, as well.....

Your bullets are lube sized and well packed,......they'll go out tomorrow, Priority Post.

A .45-90 case fulla' FFFG Swiss behind these, in a 7 lb rifle, should garner attention on both ends.

Would really like to make this shoot, somewhen.

Get on a airplane and fly to Nashville on the 12th, Greg. I'll cover a room for you.

Cool! I should have plenty of proper bullets & powder, soon!

Cross, you oughta try, if you can. I was my first trip last year, and it was a fine time.

We prolly best not let Rockchucker shoot the High Wall, though... smile

You guys are giving me a serious inferiority complex. Up to now, when I have gone to a shooting event of any kind my 416 Rigby has been the hardest kicking machine in attendance. At THIS assemblage of crazy people my poor 'little' 416 ain't gonna even make the top three contenders!

I might see about some 700gr bullets for my 54 Caliber Lyman Great Plains rifle (Faster twist 'hunter' version) with its slender, steel CRESCENT buttplate, pointy tips and all, and load those behind, oh lets say maybe 150 or so of 3f....

just make sure you load that in your Lyman, and not my Hawken smile

I reckon in the High Wall, I could load 500's over a fistful of 4198, to make things exciting smile

But truthfully I'll probably shriek when I shoot Gunner's 8 bore smirk

I fired an 8 bore once before, and I don't recall it being all that bad. IMO my lightweight 45/70 and a couple of 458 Lotts were more painful even if the free recoil energy figures might have been less. The 458 Lott's remained in Africa as gifts to PH's where light weight for carrying and lots of power on hand quickly were at a premium. I was not sad to have them leave my stable.

LOL Tex, with the very light hunting load it's not that bad, loading 400 grains of 2FG Swiss under that 850 gr round ball sucks big time, that sombish is a bone cracker. laugh
