Very very good rangefinders. Especially considering their price.

Are they capable of ranging animals or a target at 1000+ yards? A buddy of mine had a Bushnell (not sure which model it was, but it wasn't a 1500 model) and it wouldn't range a caribou at 300 yards.

You can find these on ebay for less than $200 and their ranging capability is very strong and fast!

I would probably look at the Elite 1600 if I were going to buy a standalone RF today, but for a guy buying one on a budget, the Elite 1500 would be my top choice in the sub-$250 category.

A target for sure and I've ranged cows at 1000+ but a cow is more reflective than most game animals such as deer or caribou.
Very few, if any, rangefinders will range a deer at near maximum rated distance.

I bought one new off of eBay.

It worked great for about 6 months, then something started rattling around inside and now it only sometimes kinda works.
I never dropped it or banged it around. Dunno why it fell apart.

I returned it to Bushnell hoping they could repair it.
Their only option was to offer to sell me a new 1600 for $413.

I was happy with the performance of the 1500 before it went tits-up.
Could consistently range evergreen foliage to ~800 yds. Ranged a large camper trailer @1132 yds. Cattle maybe 5-600 yds.

Doubt I'll buy another Bushnell. Vortex lifetime warranty sounds kinda good right now.
