His name is Mike and he is about to turn fifteen. His father was a very good friend of mine and a staff sergeant in the US army reserves. He unfortunately passed away from cancer at the age of thirty one leaving behind a wife and a seven year old son, throughout the last few years I've been taking Michael hunting and fishing and he wants too get into bowhunting now but his mom can't afford to get him into a decent setup. This would make his dream come true.

You don't have to give it away just let me know how much you need and I'll take it.

Michael is a worthy candidate and it'll be hard to top him but I have to let this run at least 24 hours to give others the chance to pitch their youngsters.

I'll be in Hinckley on Saturday and if Michael is the final choice then a meet there to hand over the bow package would be both convenient and cheap.

No money desired,

Not a problem, I've got to check with his mother to make sure she is ok with this as well, regardless of whether he gets it I want to thank you for your generosity.

So would I.

I lost my wife to cancer at 32, the extra love my kids received helped them through some really tough times.

Send your mailing address please...

Count me in too. I have quite a bit of hunting gear that would fit a 14 year old boy. Please send me his sizes and I will see what i can hook him up with. I also have a really nice hunting knife I would like to send. Please send me your address and I will get it on its way.

I agree but in the interest of fairness I feel I've got to keep the nomination period open for at least 24 hours.

Hey Ken, I'll look through some stuff at home and I'm sure I've got some good stuff that no longer fits me that I'd be willing to pitch in for this kid, too.

I'm thinking nobody wants to trump Mike on this deal so I'm going to call Mike the winner.
PM sent to Slayer.

Thanks guys, you're all the bee's knees.

Send me a wish list and I will see if I can come up with anything on it. If not I can send a monetary contribution.

Yes I buy from the classifieds. I spend way more than I sell. My theory: the more I buy used the less I spend with Companies, Countries and People who do not like the American Way. More people should buy at garage sales, flea markets, here, etc.

I think I'd have to agree, and I think he'd be danged hard to beat. Very nice offer, and it's nice to see it going to someone deserving.

Not to step on anyone's toes, I have a Tasco World Class Rimfire scope sitting on my reloading bench, that I have been looking for the opportunity to give away to someone deserving. It is a 3-9x40 and is in nice shape. Should that youngster need to scope a 22, I would be happy to send it his way. Just shoot me a PM.

Makes a guy feel good to see stuff like this.
