Since you mention such, I have some really nice guns that I actually WOULD trade for a kidney! Mine look like two football sized and shaped bags of rocks and gotta come out pretty soon.

you do realize im only 31 and my medical file is near on 2 inches thick, not sure anyone would want a chunk of me crazy though my liver is prolly the best you can get, family tree of alcoholics on both sides and NO ONE has ever had liver problems.....the weak liver genes were weeded out generations ago laugh

Started the Hog Hunt Early . Friend called and said he had a bunch of Feral Hogs tearing up he place and wanted me to come over and see if i could killed them . I walked into his back place a little less than a mile , swirling snow and 30 degrees . I found where they were rooting up his fields and tried calling them but no luck , moved about another quarter of a mile and spotted three, a spotted boar and two smaller Black ones moving through the woods eating and rooting. I was watching them in the scope, but to thick for a shot and then the big spotted one stopped between to trees and i had a perfect behind the shoulder shot, he ran a bout 30 yards and i couldn't get a shot at the two black ones . I was using my 6mm-06 and loaded with 75 gr V-Maxs at around 3500 to 3600 FPS , i went up to him and he had blood pouring out of his nose , but stood up and i whacked him again, the first bullet must have blown up in one lung . second shot put him down for good. The 75gr V-Max was all i had loaded, it worked but on the fragile side for big hogs. The hog was a boar. I will go back next week and try for another one. My first kill with this rifle i just built a few week back. The best thing about this hog hunt, it only cost me two 75 gr V-Max bullet.

I'm getting pretty excited about the trip. Work has been a bear lately and I think I could enjoy a few days with my feet up at a fire.

If the weather permits it should be a good hunt and get together.

Yep...last year it was sun screen. Who knows what kind of spring weather we'll have this time. Always bring rain gear but having to prepare for winter in the springtime is always a bit of a packing bitch.

If it rains, I'll stay in camp until it stops. Getting wet ain't my idea of fun.

Rain or shine, I am going to have me a good time!

I am looking forward to it immensely, as well. Been a long, long year in many ways and I had to bail on two other campfire engagements or get together's this year due to health. Time now to PAR-TEE! And kill stuff <g>

Last year it was fairly warm; we had a few bouts of rain, which was actually good. The leaves on the ground were wet, so it was easy to move around quietly. If it's raining I won't be carrying the wood stocked rifles, especially not the old ones, but instead take the black beast out.

LOL, I don't want to brag either, but it took Scotsmen to teach them to shoot 'em! laugh
