So the local Scheel's has a Tikka T3 in 308 with the bolt on the correct side - the left! Hate the factory stock - is there a B&C that will fit?

Any reason this rifle shouldn't make it to my safe?

Looked at reviews on Cabela's - 63/68 gave the rifle 5/5 stars!!! Am I missing something? Why don't I own one already?

I noticed this the other day, Mcmillan is making a LH Edge for the Tikka now and Manners is as well. I asume they can also make a LH stock for us. The Factory T 3 stock feels uncomfortable to me as well the times I have looked at them.

You should buy it. Those actions are slick. The question I should ask is why I don't buy one!!!!! blush

I put a MPI stock on my left hand Tikka and have been very happy with it. The MPI stocks ( if bought as a blank) do require allot of work though. My gun is in 270 wsm and feeds better than any other gun I own. I wonder if the mcmillan has some type of internal lug with it like the B&C. I had a stainless steel lug made for mine and I permanently bedded the lug into the stock using Devcon titanium.

I just thought I would let you know of another option, though it is not the easiest one! The 308 would probably be fine with the factory aluminum lug but my 270 WSM was already starting to dig into the lug after about 100 rounds, so I got rid of it.

Other than the stock these guns are very nice. they come with great triggers, good barrels, and unbelievably smooth actions.

If you would like I can try and post some pictures of my rifle.

Think I need to head to Scheels to liberate the Tikka. Thanks for the info - some good looking stuff there.

I'm not a gunsmith - I know better than to try, so the B&C and McMillian are appealing because they should be drop in.

Factory rings are fine, although I tend to replace them with Warnes.

The mcmillan is probably not a drop in. Usually it will still need to be bedded. Does anybody know how they are doing the recoil lug?

I bought my son a Tika T3 in 30-06 as his first gun. He has run a ton of ammo down the tube, blistered me on the range, and the gun has never failed him once. My assessment is they are very good guns for the money and maybe a bit more.

I use Warne QD rings as I'm not impressed with the ones supplied by Tikka.

I threw the tikka rings in the trash and put talley LW on my .300 Win. Hundreds of rounds and no issues...look good too.
