A .58 Leman I built a couple winters ago. These could have been fence posts I guess.

Some friends were shooting silhouette at Pala this weekend. Thought you might have been there with them.

Nice rifle you have there.

Thanks, I won the match too. That isn't saying much because there were only three of us and the other two shooters have only been shooting silhouette for a year or two. They are still learning too.

Even so I have never shot BP before the Wednesday before the match. And I only fired twenty rounds Wednesday. The rifle is a 40-65 and I used a RCBS 40-400-CSA mold I happened to get with a bunch of other molds and some Swiss powder I picked up with some other stuff. I loaded the case with no compression and no wads and the RCBS bullet cast from wheel weights. The rifle shot that load well. I am impressed with how well it did with the first load I tried. It is a good rifle!

Love the 99. I am hoping to inherit one of my grandfather's 99's in 300 savage when he passes. Hopefully, that's not for a long time though!

This is my first post here at the Campfire and I hope to share many more in the future. This thread is awesome and I have enjoyed viewing the great collection of hunting implements.
