This is the set with slide barrel magazine spring and guide rod.

yes if you get one for the 226 and keep in mind some models are sold for railed and non railed are some how different , they make differnt kits for 226 229 220 and like in the 220 some are for the carry, compact or full sized 220 more info at the sig web site

I have a stainless 226 in 9mm for which I got a .357 SIG conversion form SIG and then got a .40 S&W barrel. All the combinations work great.

As long as the kit comes with a different slide, I think it'll be okay. The standard 9mm slide won't accommodate the larger 40/357 case head, though. The 9mm 226s often were built with a slide made of a solid breech block with a sheet metal body. The 40/226s have slides milled out of a solid block of steel. Newer guns in 9mm may have slides made with the solid block construction. I think the solid block construction may be stronger to handle the greater energy in the 40/357 loads.

You may find the new 40/357 slide will work with 9mm, but the extractor spacing on the 9mm slide won't work with the larger 40/357 case head. I have gotten away with using 9mm magazines with my 40 cal 226, but the magazine lips on the 40 mag are too wide to hold 9mm ammo.
