So how do you have them loaded to where you only get 1100 fps out of a 45-90? well, one it's only a 22" barrel. Load on the far left. 65gr of KIK FFg, .030 wad, no cookie. I'm thinking about toting the AR. Any suggestions as to a good round? I don't have time to reload so it'll have to be off the shelf. .223 AR ammo may be hard/expensive to find right now. I have some WW 62gr hollow point, supposedly an "FBI load" that shoots very well in my Colt. I can bring a box if you wanna try it.

Drop about 75 grains of KIK 2f in the case and squeeze it a little bit, then seat the 500 grain Jerry Dean bullet. That will get you up around 1200 fps and give you a clean burn with soft fouling.
