That said, I'll do what I want to satisfy my curiosity, whether that means asking my dealer, or asking my dealer to ask the Winchester rep.

26 inches on a 7x57 is criminal stupid. 22 or 23 is all it needs. Spence Agreed. Asked the local dealer to call the Winchester rep and get the straight scoop on barrel length for the current 7x57 offering. We'll see what they come back with. You need to quit buying into and repeating every obvious piece of bullshit you read on the internet. You're wasting "the Winchester rep's" time as well as "your" dealer's asking this. Listen to Brick on this...he is correct. ...pissy, but correct.

I have a modified R77 in 7x57 that could be purchased. R77 action. R77 factory 7x57 barrel fluted and re crowned. Metal dura coated. Timney trigger. Bedded/free floated into a RL77 (original lightweight) stock. Shoots 140s at 5 easily into an inch at 100yds. PM if intersted. Going be in the $700 plus range. Tim
