FWIW, I don't see that you have a 'dog in this fight'.

That said, I'll do what I want to satisfy my curiosity, whether that means asking my dealer, or asking my dealer to ask the Winchester rep.

I have a modified R77 in 7x57 that could be purchased.
R77 action.
R77 factory 7x57 barrel fluted and re crowned.
Metal dura coated.
Timney trigger.
Bedded/free floated into a RL77 (original lightweight) stock.
Shoots 140s at 5 easily into an inch at 100yds.
PM if intersted. Going be in the $700 plus range.
