Any of you guys work on 1911's? I've got a bunch of new guts (springs, extractor, ejector, pins) that I want to put in an old beater and if I do it myself, I'll end up taking it to a gunsmith in a shoe box.

Sherri is for sure IN, and coming - which makes the trip lots more fun and exciting for me - and we are both looking forward to seeing and being in Nashville for the first time. We would like to catch a band or group that is edgy country/rockabilly if such can be found on a Tuesday evening there.

Any of you guys cruising by the elkhart or southbend exits on the Indiana toll road????

Got to return JaydubinWis cooler to him....... Was planning on going to the hunt again this year with a check I was waiting on from a job I had finished uplate last year. Bit into a hamburger and split a molar. Had to get a $550 crown late in January......screwed up the vacation funds with that!!!!

Up until the last few days I was planning on driving to the lodge for a few hours on Saturday. Again this last Saturday I had told my boy to tie a strap to my truck bed a certain way so a tarp would be secured..... Well his misunderstanding and my persisting on hurrying up didn't mix to well when I speedly hurried around the back of the truck to correct the situation...... Especially with the trailor hitch being in the way...... I shinned it so hard the truck bumped my kid.... I was humbled quickly.... Well leg isn't healing to well.... Foot is purple, leg is inflamed red, black, green, and yellow..... Prolly going to thd doctor tomorrow just for precaution......

With precautions in mind I dont think sixteen hours of traveling and a three hour visit is going to help the situation any better.....

Steve and pugs put on a wonderful hunt last year and the fire members that went were top shelf individuals along with the wilderness staff and kens catfish cooking.... Its vexing me not being able to go.... Would of love to meet the other members going this year.....ugggggh..... Guess all I can say is that life is life!!!

Didn't mean to be so long winded..... But again if anybody is heading down through elkhart, South Bend Indiana or Niles/three rivers area and has room for a cooler I would be Greatful enough to spot you a meal at a local diner for your willingness to help out! Take care and have a great hunt!!!!

Paul

Don't claim to be a 'smith, but assembling a 1911 is usually not that big of a deal. Bring the gun & parts and I'll see what I can do with it.

OK I have been in contact with Walker at Teesprings the past 2 days reguarding the tee shirts. Walker has be great and has arranged to have the shirts reprinted today and shipped UPS 2nd day delivery to arrive on Monday morning. Glad to see a company doing what it takes to make things right even if it cost them some money

Taking apart a 45 and re-assembling ain't no biggie. I learned how by accident. Putting on a mainspring housing w/lanyard ring and I screwed up putting it back on due to the springs. Next thing I knew, my 45 was completely disassebled in front of me. I figured it out. If I can figger it out, you can too Pat grin And NO I haven't blown it up and it works just dandy thank you grin

Thanks Jim, I figure it can't be any harder than a Mdl 94, or A5, but don't wanna run into one of those "you need this tool" situation. smile

Only "tool" used is either a brass pin punch or a wooden one, smalll diameter. Of course(as usual for me) I learned a third hand woulda been handy to have.

Sign me up for the 1911 class as well.
I was given a Remington Rand 1911 made in 1940 from an old farmer friend I worked for as a kid.I may use it on a pig if I can get close enough.
