Elmer,

Beautiful rig! Can you give us the weight? I'm guessing about 8.5 as it sits?

Also, 23.5" barrel w/o the break?

Amazing!

Thanks,
Bob

Ya need to bring that thing to the SRM and see what it will do. If you do I'll shoot the WSSM and we'll compare notes!

Tanner,

I will pay for you to send that damn pajama stock to McMillan for a real recoil pad and a real paint job. I'll even send you a stock to use while its being "upgraded".

Not that it's not beautiful or anything.....

Sir,

Don't hate it because it's beautiful. You can try out the color scheme if you would like. I won't be angry.

I am cutting the stock and putting on a recoil pad tonight... that part will be fixed.

Just an offer....

FYI -- my 9 year old daughter saw the stock and thinks its cool. I told her to stay away from you in a few years.

Be careful cutting on that stock tonight and good luck installing the pad. Go kill some stuff with it....

More better...

How long was LOP on that thing? You look like you have some height and long arms. Was it over 14"?

It was like 14.25"... WAY too long for me. I like my LOP right at 13 3/8", and that's what this one is now. Mucho better!

I'm 6', but I dunno'. That stock was just long as heck.

Love the Shilen 260 AI. Curious as to why you went 9 twist? Just an after thought or?

Well for several reasons
1. I've heard of people having seating issues with the 260 AI and the really long bullets not being able to seat them at magazine length, I wanted a functional hunting rifle not a single shot.

2. I had originally planned on shooting the 120 gr BallisticTip.

3. My smith had a 1-9 twist that a customer had ordered and changed his mind to a 1-8 twist, so he knocked off a 100 stones to get me to buy it smirk

I love the setup, shoots like a dream and I've taken several deer and antelope with it and a couple elk(1 @ 605yds) and it's all been DRT type of harvests.

I've got an 8 twist 260 and if doing it again, for those same reasons you state, I'd go 8.5 or 9 I think. Can't really seat stuff out far enough in the box to take advantage of heavy bullets in it. Love my 8 twist 6.5-06 though.

Yeah I'm a little worried about the Kimber and 140 gr pills. Might end up shooting the same load out of it. It's cut with the same reamer so hopefully I ain't got to do much tinkering.

Them's is more than enough reasons to go 9T good sir laugh

My Model 7 .260 irked me similarly, in that 123 SMKs were useless in it, unless I wanted to gun it like an HR Hand I rifle laugh
