I've had this baby on order for two months now and finally got it last night. I went out to the garage first thing this morning and started working on it. I installed a new set of factory Jeep Unlimited (4 door jeep) coils and put a Teraflex leveling kit in it and a new set of tires and wheels. This is a base model Jeep so it came with the little 29" mailtruck tires. The springs gave it a 1" lift all around and the leveling kit was good for 2" in the front and 1" in the back. The Firestone Destination M/T tires are 33" (285/70R17's) so I got 2" more there. Later this week it's going in the shop for new differentials. I'm going with the Detroit Locker TruTrac's front and rear and I'm calling it done for a while. So far I'm really like'n it. Terry

Very nice looking set up . What are the well brand? The wheels are AEV. They supply a lot of the parts for Jeep on thier limited edition models. You gonna change the gearing? They come stock with 3.21's but since I ordered it I had them install 3.73's which is about perfect for the 33" tires.

My wife had one of those--she called the color "greasewood green"! (She is a native of southern New Mexico and a fine artist, so who's going to argue?)

That is very nice.
I am tired of jacking around with old used Jeep's and my wife agrees with me. Hope to have a new one in the very near future.

Nice but why didn't you just buy a Rubicon? It already COMES with proper axles and gears. While you are at it, you'd better do something to beef up that Dana 30 in the front, maybe a ARB with Super 30 axles.

The Rubicon is nice but is an extra $9500 which made it un-do-able for me.
The Sport with the Dana 30 With TruTrac differentials will be fine for my needs. I'll probably gusset the front axles when I get the time to weld but with only 33" tires I'm not extremely worried about it. It already has the proper gears so no worries there.

I like it, if I didn't have a legitimate need for a truck I would probably be rocking a newer unlimited Rubi. That thing should be just capable enough to get you into trouble

I have the same tires on my Suburban only smaller. If you haven't used them before, from my experience you will love them.

Yes, someday. Right now my wallet is suffering from trauma. An AEV front bumper and Warn ZEON would be nice.

As a guy that has had a winch on a couple of 4WD's, I'd say get a Hi-Lift Jack, a lenth of cable, and a good shovel. All you usually need to do is move it a couple of feet to get it unstuck. That's a very interesting setup. Sounds like you have researched your needs well. If it were mine, I think I'd skip the Tru-Trac in the front. But I like how you lifted and leveled it, not too much. Using basically Jeep parts, etc. Engineered to work together, I suspect. Had my eye on the Rubicon myself. But that rig would very likely fit my needs just fine. $9500 can buy alot of hunting. E

Add THIS to the list. It's a fraction of the cost and weight of a bumper winch, and you can pull from any direction rather than just off the front. Win-win. TCI, I think your modest approach is smart, and looks great so far.
