Dang, I need to start loading up some major ammo!

How much are you guys bringing for your rigs? should 50-70 rounds each for 2 rifles be sufficient, or do I need to think bigger? grin...

Bring more..

Are you guys coming in on friday? We always shoot a little after we set things up on thursday and friday. The first shoot, I shot over 1000 rounds. last year, I fired about 1200 rounds.

Bring spotters, tripods, and some white paint.

Luck....is the residue of design...

Last year I brought 200 rounds of 308, and 200 rounds of 30-06. I shot less than half of that, but I headed for home Saturday night.

I'd say if you are coming that far, bring plenty of ammo, you can always carry it home. It would suck to run dry.

A good rule of thumb might be to estimate how much you think you might shoot, then double that.

I would guesstimate last year there were 15 or so targets downrange. Maybe more. Not hard to shoot 10 rounds per target, per rifle, per day. Then you might go back around again to check comeups again. And that is a conservative number.

I think this year there will be even more targets than last year.

I figured 300-400 rounds would be plenty. I started loading up last weekend for my .260AI and discovered that I am just about out of RL17. I've been shooting that powder for the last 3 years but can't find any now. I should've kept a better eye on it. Started working with two other powders that I have plenty of - 7828SSC and Hunter. Both show promise. One thing I didn't like about RL17 was, I had to be right up against max pressure in my rifle for the SD to drop. I guess two things - RL17 is some what temp sensitive. So running out of RL17 may be a good thing. Hope to be on the road by lunchtime on Thursday. Looks like 8-9 hours. I look forward to it.

Hey Bob, I've got a decent amount of RL-17 if you're in a really tight place in needing some...

Thanks Tanner! I thought I had another 5 pounder on hand. I'm actually liking 7828SSC so far. Loads easy, good SD and almost where I need to be velocity-wise with more room to go. I look forward to meeting you next month!
