Don't get me wrong I like them, but WOW.
Now given Sako has jacked up the Sako 85 to ~1,500 bucks, and the Tikka T3 is around 600 now, maybe more - I guess they split the difference.
Things sure aren't getting cheaper.

That does seem a might much for an A7, I like the A7 but for a grand I can find another rifle I like a bit better..............Hb

I had a Cabales ad the other day with a Sako A7 stainless fluted looked like $1100-$1200, seemed high to me. I have a stainless A7 and like everything about it,but don't use it at all and have a hard time letting it go!
As for Tikka's my one wholeseller just got a crap ton of them in,so maybe getting caught up

Sako designed the A-7 to be under the $1,000 price point.

You can pick up a nice used AV,M75 or Mark V for that price

I handled an A7 t Cabelas in Scarbough Maine and to take the magazine out You had to push up on the mag with one hand and push the release with the other hand is his the way they all are our was this one messed up? That's the way it works to keep from accidentally dropping the mag while hunting. I just got one in 308 for the wife a few weeks ago and it seems to shoot great with a load I just threw together.

used to be able to get a vanguard for $399 too...go check, they aren't that cheap anymore!

You can do it with one hand. Use left hand to push up on mag with thumb of left hand and push mag release to rear with first finger of left hand and mag falls out in left hand. Easier done than said, but not hard to get used too.

I paid $1350(Australia). For me it is the only rifle I can think of(exception of Tikka T3) that represents quality workmanship, accuracy into a bargain$. In fact, when I buy another rifle it will certainly be another T3 or A7, but not before a Mauser M12

The Sako Tecomate is a fine piece work. It's got all the features that appeal to me in a top notch bolt action factory offering. When it first appeared the MSRP was $1250 and it was hard to find one for less than that. I have uptmost respect for the Sako name, but I don't own one, and with my shooting skills the quality may not be fully appreciated anyhow. I have managed to find all the features of this rifle in the both the TC Icon and the Winchester Extreme Sporter. Together these two rifles cost me less than $1200. So, there are alternatives for those like me who don't feel worthy of the Sako product.

If you want a real Sako at a reasonable price, buy a nice A or L series. They can be had for $600 and up. IMHO, they're a much better deal.

Quality. Barrels , actions overall fit and finish. You have to buy a Semi-custom like a Cooper to be a tad better.
