Great Grey Owl.
It is the largest of all owls as measured by height.
Excellent find, and photos.
Congratulations.

#2 and #4 are my fav of these. She has a lot more pics of this guy but hasn't had time to play around with cropping/processing yet.
As per usual, click "reply" to see the photos a little larger.
It was a very fun photo opportunity for Pam.

I have another one. almost looks like he's got a beard. I drive the truck, and turn the key off, sometimes it's a boat, sometimes it's an atv... sometimes we're walking and I'm the guy pointing, she takes the pictures. (thank god) Sometimes I get to help a little bit by trying to get a critter to turn it's head. It's like "Jim" and Marlin perkins. She does the smart work, I .... I'm just Jim, lol. The old kissy lips mouse squeak was just the ticket to make this guy spin his head around.

Nice work to your wife.
A friend of mine had a close encounter with one while wearing his rabbit skin hat.
That's a close up he won't forget.

She's got it, she's still learning how to use it. She does some cropping and a little basic tweaking with it but she's still learning.
I'm no help to her with any of it, she's been watching video tutorials etc.
Taking little bites at a time.

Excellent! Used to think it was great if one got the eyes. Looking into the eyes really nails it. Way to go lady. That first image should look very good on canvas print. Intervening twigs are near always an issue with big birds, but one has to shoot what mother nature offers up.
Cookie scored a little recognition today, as the state moose n goose boys asked if they could use one of her images on a post card they're sending out.

That's very cool, congrats to cookie!
The twig shot is probably my fav of what I put up here, the lower right eyelid looks like it's actually pulled away from the eye a bit with the wind that flared up.
Pam's having fun, and that's cool. Makes me happy.

I like the fourth with the owl on the post for the lighting and pose. Wish that the tail was not clipped though.
