Pop and go. Home sweet home - away from home. When you come to visit you get the green carpet treatment.

It all fits in the back of my truck and we have 3 women who come to deer camp wife, daughter and daughter in law plus grand daughter.

PS live in these tents for 3 weeks.

I use indoor/outdoor carpet in my tent too. Four rolls of 6x8. Works great. Keeps the dirt and dust down and I can walk around in bare feet to stoke the stove and whatnot.

O.K., If you insist, I surely will...... Why the heck would you want to haul cans of stinking fuel oil along? Feel better? grin

I just lay em flat on the pick-up bed. They don't take up any room to speak of. Also the carpet keeps all the other gear clean. It's a no brainer.

Nice rig round oak.

Thanks TJAY and Ghostinthemachine. It is a Craig's list special and I certainly have got my money's worth out of it already. The first trip out with it I took it to a place where previously I tried to set up the wall tents on the shore of a lake. Could not drive any stakes into the bedrock so we abandoned the place.

It has been places where I should have not taken it but managed to get away with it except one time I took it into a coulee leading down into the Missouri Breaks. I paid a rancher with a 4WD tractor to get a wrecker close enough to pull it out with his winch.

Here is another idea, a sheep camp. I am building a modern day sheep camp, I am about half done. It can go almost anywhere a pick-up can go and has all of the things that you don't need. I have been taking pictures of the building process that I will post when I get done. Here is a partial list of the amenities I'm putting in it.

Wood burning stove/oven
Fridge
12 volt lights
BBQ grill
Queen size bed
Hard wood floors
Granite counter tops
Sink and water tanks

And it goes almost anywhere my truck goes

What exactly is a sheep camp? I have heard the term before referring to a smaller wall tent type set up. But that's not what yours sound like. Details?
Thanks

Nevermind, I goggled it. I do not have the skills nor the tools to do such a thing. Pretty cool though.
Thanks

Wilson camps are manufacturing some similar to the one I am building. They travel at road speed, have metal roofs, and are very secure. I'm pretty excited about it.

What is a sheep camp?

Picture a slightly more robust covered wagon equipped with a stove and bunk.

If you google timberline range camps, it will give you a basic idea of what I'm talking about. But mine is cooler.
