Blackdogsrule & I are heading to Nambibia in July for a plains game hunt. Can anyone recommend an honest firm to handle the trophies, dipping, packing & shipping. How about a Namibian taxidermist to handle it all??? ANY other helpful suggestions or recommendations welcomed. Thanks 163bc

The shipper in Namibia was Namibia Safari Services in Windhoek, and once they reached San Francisco, they were handled by Hunter Int'l Brokerage Services. 3 yrs ago, 6 unmounted trophies (capes, skulls, horns, 3 backskins was around $2300 IIRC.

We used Reiser Taxidermy for euro mounts and tanned hides and I.F.N. Airfreight Logistics. Very happy with the work of both firms.
VERY unhappy with Air Canada Cargo . Have a great hunt post pictures please.

I assume you picked them up there and transported them to your taxidermist?? Thanks, Sam

My PH (Roger Coomber) used Namibia Safari Services. I had Coppersmith handle the US end of the deal. All went well.

I used Namases Taxidermy and was very happy. Great communication, excellent mounts and packed well. I used Coppersmith to clear.

Interesting! I would never use Namibia Safari Services or Namasis Taxi. I used both in 2006 and the services was terrible. The hides were attached to the forms for drying using steel nails. They rusted and discolored the white hairs. The mounted animals were shipped in two cardboard boxes fabricated from refrigerator cartons. The animals were packed in shredded newspaper. Results. Blesbok skull broken. Warthog tusks missing. Springbok horns missing. I had purchased insurance. A joke. A different warthog skull was sent to me by the shipper. The lower jaw did not match the upper jaw. I was charged for the skull by the shipper. A different Springbok skull was shipped. I was charged for the replacement skull. The shipper finally owed me $85 or something like that. He would not send a wire transfer because it cost him $25 for the transfer. I finally quit arguing with him. I figger I bought him for $25. I have pics and emails to prove the above. Use someone else!

BrnBear,
I had similar results with Namibia Safari Services--never again.
IFN for me.
