50 degrees at first light, 75 high. If the snakes don't bite its all good. Has to be my favorite time of year.

Any gobbling over there? We aren't hearing a peep where I hunt in North La, but it shouldnt be long. The youth season was a bust this past weekend, a first for me in the past 7 years guiding young hunters.

Quite as a mouse in SE Bama. Hens were still together the middle of last week but the group I've been tracking looked like they were breaking up over the weekend. Gobblers should start piping up soon.

Quite as a church house mouse around here as well. Not even seeing many, can't understand that one.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Gobblers are still bunched up and doing there thing as well as the larger hen flocks. Not really paying a lot of attention to calling.
Gobbling a good bit on the limb but not much on the ground, it's just a little early that's all. They will come around.
Got one Sunday evening, three came in. Straight bushwhacking.

Got one Sunday evening, three came in. Straight bushwhacking. Same story in east central MS...winter flocks, little gobbling on roost, none on ground, and no response to calls. Hopefully that's change soon.

I agree with you Rusty, Woodville MS march 16th, 4 hunters, no kills. the birds were mostly quiet, I heard 2 gobblers saturday morn but they were far and off my property. later I heard a group of hens pass my setup, never saw them. 1 hunter had a tom with 8 hens come in his field but never got with in range, they would talk to him but never crossed the field to get near him.

I'm more concerned with the yotes versus the weather. Birds are barely on the ground and they are swarmed here. Sux to see.
